1. N95 Respirator mask

Who can wear?
i. Health care workers
ii. People who have COVID-19 symptoms
iii. People who are taking care of someone suspected or confirmed with COVID-19
iv. In areas where COVID-19 is widespread
v. In crowded areas where physical distancing of at least one metre cannot be achieved
2. Surgical/ Medical mask
Features
i. It filters only large particles greater than 5 microns
ii. It provides a loose fit around the nose and mouth
iii. For single use only
Who can wear?
i. Health care workers
ii. People who have COVID-19 symptoms
iii .Those who are taking care of someone suspected or confirmed with COVID-19
iv. People who are aged 60 years or older
v. In areas where COVID-19 is widespread
vi. In crowded areas where physical distancing of at least one metre cannot be achieved
3. Fabric mask
Features
i. It filters only large particles greater than 10 microns
ii. It provides a snug fit around the nose and mouth
iii. Washable and reusable
Who can wear?
i. General public who have no COVID-19 symptoms
ii. In crowded areas where physical distancing of at least one metre cannot be achieved
iii. Fabric face masks must also be considered in busy settings like when travelling in public transport like buses, shared taxis, and trains, in workplaces, in grocery stores and other crowded environments
Guidelines to follow for wearing mask
- The mask should cover your nose, mouth and chin
- The mask should be breathable; neither be too loose not too tight
- Avoid touching the outer surface of mask when you are outside
- Before wearing a mask, wash your hands with soap and water, or alcohol-based hand sanitizers
- Ensure used masks are not in contact with your belongings while removing
- Discard single-use medical mask into a closed bin
- Wash fabric face mask with warm water and soap after each use
- Do not use soiled, dirty mask damaged mask
